  • Utah: Kennecott Copper Mine
by Timmy the Duck Thief on 30th August 2019 at 3:19 pm

Known for its pioneers and religious history, breathtaking national parks and ski resorts, Utah has a large Travel and Tourism economy which sees over 23 million people a year. However, this is not the state’s only booming industry.Utah also has an abundance of natural resources within its rocks, which has created a large mining industry. From gold to coal, the state has many operations which extract these precious elements from the ground. However, there is one industry that stands out from among the rest.Being one of the largest man-made open-pit excavations in the world, the Kennecott Copper Mine[en.wikipedia.org] which operates all year round has produced over 20 million tons of refined copper ore. Its operation is so large it can be seen from outer space, and makes for an impressive view for any driver close by.In our upcoming Utah map expansion for American Truck Simulator, drivers will be able to assist in the operation by delivering equipment and resources to and from the mine. Be sure to take extra care when driving through this impressive landmark, as you drive on dusty roads and into an active mine.https://store.steampowered.com/app/1104880/American_Truck_Simulator__Utah/

by Timmy the Duck Thief on 26th August 2019 at 3:41 pm

We are back home after an exciting and exhausting marathon that is Gamescom. It was our honor and joy to meet so many of our fans in person. Thank you for stopping by! We are proud to have captured the attention of thousands of visitors, with so many people ready to stand for hours in the long queue to give a try to our truck sim motion seat setups. There was a reward there – a chance to be the first to drive through segments of the upcoming American Truck Simulator – Utah and Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Road to the Black Sea map DLC expansions.Of course, we are well aware that only a small fraction of our games’ fan base can make it to any gaming expo. So if you are interested in at least getting an impression of the atmosphere of a major gaming show from our perspective, we have created a short video recap for you. We’d also like to thank all the hardware and equipment manufacturers for their support in making sure that playing our games at Gamescom has been a first-class experience.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERAot4jzaWwThank you, you’re breathtaking!

  • Utah: Sleep well, traveler
by Timmy the Duck Thief on 16th August 2019 at 4:57 pm

After a long days’ drive through the hot and dusty roads of Utah, truckers will need somewhere to take a well-deserved rest. Truck Stops are the cornerstone for any driver, providing the necessary amenities and facilities for truckers who are out on the road for the long haul.Mainly found along interstates; each Truck Stop can usually be found with surrounding businesses, such as family-run diners, convenience stores, and even motels which make every visit unique for drivers. As day turns to night, make sure to set your navigation to the nearest rest stop and get some shut-eye, for tomorrow a new day of trucking awaits. Sleep well, traveler.https://store.steampowered.com/app/1104880/American_Truck_Simulator__Utah/

  • Goodyear event & community contest results
by Timmy the Duck Thief on 3rd September 2019 at 11:50 am

We have been super busy in the recent days. Our On The Road team had to split up to visit five different countries on three continents in the past two weeks! Finally we are back in the office today to prepare the summary of both the Goodyear event and the community screenshot contest. It is clear that our World of Trucks events engage and entertain the player community, we have been in fact surprised by the level of participation. We were glad to see that nobody complained much when we extended the event to give people more time to complete all the event jobs. The numbers are in, and so many people finished 10 jobs and earned the achievement! For the community screenshot contest, there were over 2,000 valid entries (and much more photos actually, as many of you posted more than one). Many of the shots were absolutely stunning! Same as with our previous competitions, judging those entries was a pretty hard task because there’s always way more beautiful pictures than there are slots for the winners.Nevertheless, it had to be done and here are the winners! Feel free to express your love for these pictures too; the names are hyperlinked, so you are welcome to click on their names and give them a like! mamili1649 VladKornv85 mrnoeb simulatortrucker[www.instagram.com] krazynezz_real[www.instagram.com]All the winners above will be contacted shortly via the same platform they entered through; if you’re one of them, do check your messages and choose your reward from our e-shop![eshop.scssoft.com]Thank you all for participation in Goodyear event. Until next time!https://store.steampowered.com/app/1117140/Euro_Truck_Simulator_2__Goodyear_Tyres_Pack/

  • A real-life story
by Timmy the Duck Thief on 31st August 2019 at 2:09 pm

We are always excited and humbled at the same time when we hear that our games have profoundly and positively affected the lives of our fans. Marcus Armstrong sent us his story:Originally posted by Marcus Armstrong:To everyone at SCS Software, especially those dealing with Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone involved, even though you have kind of lost a player.I use to be an avid fan of the series playing Euro Truck Simulator, UK Truck Simulator and then both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, investing in steering wheels, Track IR and gear sticks for my PC.Two years ago the company I worked for had been turning in a direction I was not overly comfortable with. I felt that it was moving away from its core values and what defined it as unique and I started considering an exit strategy. This exit strategy becomes more important when, out of a team of three, one of us had to take voluntary redundancy. As the youngest team member in my mid-thirties, I decided that I would be in the best position to get started a new career, a career in different industry as I was a little burnt out doing what I was doing. I needed to be able to get into an industry where I could retrain quickly and earn what I was earning before, or more. I ended up, within a two month period, passing both HGV Class 2 and then Class 1 license. By the third month, I had a job with R.T. Keedwell which I have been doing for the last couple of years, driving a Mercedes Actros MP4 (which I am currently writing this from a truck stop for the night, good ol’ Hotel Mercedes). So why am I thanking you guys and gals at SCS? Well out of several industries I had been trained in; Web Dev, 3D Animation, Administration and Finance, it was ETS2 and ATS which I had enjoyed playing so much that I decided to take out a loan to cover the training costs and then base not just my career on, but my lifestyle as well, I am a Trucker (even grew the beard). I’m currently racking up 2500km a week driving all over the UK where no two days are quite the same and I meet countless people from the companies we haul for and other drivers.SCS, you gave me the inspiration to venture out into a career I had never would have thought of and now love doing. So again, a huge heartfelt thank you and keep up the good work!Marcus A.Trucker nameplate “4 1/2 Days”Thank you, Marcus, we are so happy for you! We wish you all the best and safe returns from your hauls.Marcus is actually an Actros driver as you could notice from the text and photo. What a lucky coincidence – conveniently, we happen to have a very related project in the very final stages of development. More information will be available really soon.https://store.steampowered.com/app/1056761/Euro_Truck_Simulator_2__Actros_Tuning_Pack/
